AutPlay Therapy is a neurodiversity informed therapeutic practice. It is an integrative modality of Play Therapy combining the therapeutic powers of play therapy and relationship strengthening and development, with the aim of supporting children with their mental health and wellbeing.
This approach is child-led, allowing the child the time and space to choose what and how to play. The therapist then supports them through identifying and highlighting their strengths as well as guiding areas of potential growth, working towards goals, and supporting the needs of the child and whole family system. Children feel accepted as they are, boosting their confidence and supporting them to develop a positive sense of self.
This approach supports children with Autism or other neurodiversity’s to address a range of challenges such as emotional regulation, social skills, anxiety, sensory challenges, self-esteem, identity, autonomy and more.
